B store, Saville Row

simple boutique which do have any impression given at the first look from outside of the store. It projects a mix feeling, some people may thought messy and as if renovation work is on going with alot of broken wood unorganisely display and some people may think this is seomthing unique with a 'globe' display forest projected on the screen, although b store has it own philosophy and cater for a specialize market for those who are especially preferred b concept fashion. so i believe that the market shire for this particular product is rather restricted.

The b Store Philosophy

Exploring a singular vision, the b Store brand aims to offer a modern and accessible concept, cohesive throughout the store and in its eponymous clothing and shoe collections; to be individual, confident and define its own unique aesthetic that transcends trends. b Store strives to offer a unique and creative proposition for the modern consumer’s life, away from the world of branded luxury.

History

The label launched in 2001 solely as a shoe line - devised by co-owners José Neves, Matthew Murphy and Kirk Beattie - with its home in Mayfair’s Conduit Street, London. The original concept for the store was to create a launch-pad for young designers within the fashion, art and design sphere by inviting graduates from London colleges to stock their collections and complement the b Store shoe line. Following its success and early renown for carrying innovative labels, the store moved in 2006 to its current location on Savile Row. The b Store brand evolved to offer a unisex clothing line, adding another dimension to the concept – which earned the store the coveted ‘Shop of the Year’ title at the British Fashion Awards. b Store now presents seasonal collections on schedule at London Fashion Week, selling to over fifty stockists worldwide.

Now firmly on the London fashion map – the b Store boutique is a destination featuring exciting collections and plays home to regular installations from young artists. As part of an ongoing philosophy to nurture fresh design talent, b Store joined forces in 2009 with The Design Museum for the Super Contemporary exhibition and with Casio G-Shock in a unique design collaboration featuring a range of limited edition watches.

Exciting developments for the future of b Store include further collaborations and the launch of a separate women’s line of clothing, on its way soon.

Profile

Designed in house by co-owners Matthew Murphy and Kirk Beattie, the b Store clothing collection represents stylish basics – something classic with a modern edge and ultimately, the completing items of your wardrobe. The duo first crossed paths in the early nineties with Matthew as a menswear buyer for a contemporary fashion store and Kirk as the proprietor of his own boutique. They quickly became friends and shared a common interest in the fashion and music scene – with views they felt were quite different to their peers. In 2001 Matthew met José Neves – an independent brand owner who was keen to launch a London-based footwear label, and the brand was born. Since, Matthew and Kirk have become the face of b Store, working inside the boutique and designing its collections. They draw inspiration from their mutual interests in art, music and film, in particular musical icons such as the late ’70s Berlin-influenced David Bowie and ‘80s post-punk bands including Joy Division and the Human League.
